Part A - Essay

Tomorrow (Tuesday) we will write Final Exam Part A Essay.

Students are encouraged to bring with them a one page (front side only) "cheat sheet" with point form notes written on it to aid them in their essay. They are to also bring with them a complete title page as laid out in the expectations in class as well as the expectations handout (marking criteria sheet).

- What were the reasons leading up to the outbreak?

- Causes of WWII – what sparked another war?
- Why was this war different for Canada, i.e., Statute of Westminster
- What nations were involved in the Second World War?
- What battles did Canadians play a major role in?
- What was occurring on the home front during the World Wars?
- After World War II what organization was set up to prevent another war, i.e., UN
- What was the Cold War? What alliances were set up? I.e., NATO, Warsaw Pact
- What is the United Nations? What conflicts has Canada contributed peacekeepers/peacemakers?
- What is NAFTA? What nations does Canada trade with?
