Monday Jan.30 - Final Exam Part B - Multiple Choice (in the gym from 9 am - 11 am)
If you would like to get some extra help/have questions/review past exams I will be available on Thurs. Jan. 26 and Fri. Jan. 27 from 11 am - 1 pm ONLY. If I am not in the classroom ask at the office for me.
*Essay marks will be available Fri. Jan. 27 @ 9 am. They will be posted on the classroom door.
Globalization, the process by which the world’s citizens are becoming increasingly connected and interdependent, demands that students explore responsibilities associated with local and global citizenship and formulate individual responses to emergent issues related to globalization. Recognizing and appreciating the influence of globalization will lead students to develop individual and collective responses to emergent issues.

Social Studies 10 Review
Tomorrow we will be reviewing the course to prepare you for the two part final exam.
The remaining schedule for SS 10 is as follows;
Fri. Jan 20th - Course Review (I'll let you look at your old exams)
Mon. Jan. 23rd - Part A Final Exam Prep (essay prep in class time)
Tues. Jan 24th - Part A Final Exam - Essay (in class)
Mon. Jan 30th - Part B Final Exam - Multiple Choice (9 am in the gym)
Use your time wisely and prepare for your exams! Your marks will reflect your hard work.

What events occurred that contributed to Canada’s sovereignty?
- WWI – what battles did we look at that involved Canadians, i.e., Vimy Ridge
- Who was involved in WWI, i.e., alliances
- What were the reasons leading up to the outbreak?
- Interwar period – Treaty of Versailles – what was it?
- Causes of WWII – what sparked another war?
- Why was this war different for Canada, i.e., Statute of Westminster
- What nations were involved in the Second World War?
- What battles did Canadians play a major role in?
- What was occurring on the home front during the World Wars?
- After World War II what organization was set up to prevent another war, i.e., UN
- What was the Cold War? What alliances were set up? I.e., NATO, Warsaw Pact
- What is the United Nations? What conflicts has Canada contributed peacekeepers/peacemakers?
- What is NAFTA? What nations does Canada trade with?

4. Read pg. 392-400 Define: Peacekeeping, Peacemaking, Korea, Kuwait, Somalia, and apartheid
5. Unit Pack Section XI - read pg. 401-405 - complete questions.
