Global Trade Networks

Global Trade Networks

Today we.....

1. Reviewed/discussed the growth of global trading networks.

2. Reviewed the Venn Diagram - we looked at the unique attributes and the shared attributes of the international trade network the Silk Road AND mercantilism.

3. We then went to the lab to begin researching the Hudson's Bay Company and the British East India Company - two mercantilist companies.

We will continue tomorrow.

What is Globalization?

- we were able to determine the aspects of globalization; political, economic, environmental, social, cultural, and technological.

2. we had a discussion on our understandings of globalization.

3. we read about Marshall McLuhan's "Global Village" - how he had foreseen the development of social globalization through the "media"

4. we identified key words in the article "Closer Than You Think" that are connected to the concept of globalization - co-operation, diplomacy, relationships, interconnected, dependent, foreign policy, cultural influence, environment, security, foreign relations, trade etc.
