Tomorrow we will be discussing pages 162-167 of the text, watching "Taking The West" video and assignment, and working on the remaining questions.
Globalization, the process by which the world’s citizens are becoming increasingly connected and interdependent, demands that students explore responsibilities associated with local and global citizenship and formulate individual responses to emergent issues related to globalization. Recognizing and appreciating the influence of globalization will lead students to develop individual and collective responses to emergent issues.

The Burdens of Imperialism
To wrap up yesterdays assignment on "The White Man's Burden" and the Responses to Kipling we had to write a summary based on the following;
After considering these perspectives, who do you believe is responsible for addressing the consequences of imperialism on Indigenous people in Canada and around the world? Why?

1. Explore the Issues p. 131 #2 A & B. Complete on your own.
2. Recognize Relationships between Content and Issues #2 A (only for Genocide definition), B, & C. Complete in partners and ensure you have your own copy. Genocide or Depopulation??
3. The Story of Sacred Mountain - from Youtube (I will show you this!)
4. To what extent does cultural contact affect people? Write a paragraph using detailed examples from ch. 6 to explain your point of view.

Ch. 6 Questions and "Historical Document Assessments"

1. completed the Sensitive Reading of Historical Documents Assessments - most students completed in class time. Those that did not need to complete and hand in tomorrow.
